How to Use Text Banking

One way you can use your mobile device is to text specific commands to us, and we'll text you back. Text banking can help solve many problems: over-drafting your account, for example. If you're on the go without internet access and don't want to pick up the phone, you can just text!

How to register for or deactivate text banking, plus a quick “How to” cheat sheet below.

How To Register for Text Banking:

You can register for the SMS (text banking) service via the mobile-optimized browser: https://m.congressionalfcu.org. Once you are on the Congressional Federal mobile website, complete the following steps:
  1. Log in using your Member ID and password.
  2. Select “SMS Settings” to begin registration.
  3. Register up to three unique phone numbers that will receive/send texts. (All numbers that are currently registered for SMS for the account will be displayed under “Enrolled phones”.)
  4. To enroll a new number, select “Add a mobile number.”
  5. You will then be presented with useful information regarding the SMS service as well as Congressional FCU’s Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions. After selecting “Agree” you will be asked to enter your mobile phone number.
  6. Select “Continue” and a verification code will be sent to your mobile phone for your security.
  7. Congratulations! You are now set up to use text banking.

Deactivate Text Banking:

To deactivate text banking simply text “STOP” to 86020. You will receive a text message notification that you have been unsubscribed from the SMS service.

To deactivate from the Congressional Federal Mobile site at https://m.congressionalfcu.org:
  1. Log in using your Member ID and password.
  2. Select “SMS Setting.”
  3. Select “Enrolled Phones.”
  4. Select “Deactivate” next to the desired phone.
  5. Deactivate Service. You will receive a text message notification that you have been unsubscribed from the SMS service.
